New York Strip Steak Sandwiches

Easy to assemble and easy to enjoy.

Ingredients:

1 lb. boneless New York strip steak
3 tablespoons olive oil
2 yellow onions, peeled and sliced into rings
1/2 teaspoon fresh thyme
2 sub rolls
Mayonnaise, to taste
Dijon mustard, to taste
Kosher salt, to taste
Ground black pepper, to taste

Directions:

  1. Season both sides of steak with salt and pepper. Cover steak with aluminum foil and let rest for 10 minutes.
  2. Pour half of the olive oil into a skillet. Bring to medium-high heat and cook for about 4 minutes on each side. Transfer to a plate and slice into strips.
  3. Pour the remaining olive oil into the same skillet and reduce to medium heat. Saute onion and thyme for about 10 minutes, until onions are caramelized.
  4. Spread mayonnaise and mustard over bottom half of each roll. Top with a layer of steak strips and caramelized onion rings. Season with additional salt and pepper. Place top bun on and enjoy!
