Homemade Hot Chocolate

Why go to the store when you can make it at home?

Ingredients:

4 cups whole milk
8 oz. 60% cacao, finely chopped into small pieces
1 tablespoon powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/8 teaspoon salt

Directions:

  1. Bring milk to a simmer in a small, thick pot that is set over low heat. While milk is coming to a simmer, stir occasionally to keep milk from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
  2. Add cacao, powdered sugar, vanilla and salt to pan; whisk continuously until cacao has melted.
  3. Heat and whisk for an additional 4 minutes.
