Cranberry and Spicy Sausage Meatballs

A hot and sweet treat for your taste buds.

Ingredients:

1 lb spicy Italian sausage, casings removed
1 lb ground beef
1 cup panko crumbs
1/4 cup minced yellow onions
1/3 cup ketchup
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 eggs
1 can whole cranberry sauce, 16 oz.
1 tablespoon brown sugar
12 oz chili sauce
2 teaspoons lemon juice

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 325° F. Line two cooking trays with aluminum foil.
  2. In a large bowl, combine spicy sausage, ground beef, panko crumbs, onions, ketchup, garlic powder, soy sauce and eggs. Blend the ingredients together and form into small balls. Arrange meatballs on cooking sheets.
  3. Place trays in the oven and bake for 10- 12 minutes.
  4. As meatballs are cooking, combine the cranberry sauce, brown sugar, chili sauce and lemon juice in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat until the mixture is blended.
  5. Place the meatballs in a slow cooker. Pour cranberry mixture over top. Stir together. Set heat to low on slow cooker and let simmer for 2 hours.
