Slow Cooked Fried Apples

Sweet with a hint of spices.

Ingredients:

3 gala apples, sliced
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup melted butter
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons cornstarch

Directions:

  1. Place apples in a mixing bowl, sprinkle cornstarch over apples and coat evenly.
  2. Combine brown sugar, cinnamon and sugar in a separate bowl.
  3. Pour sugar mix over apples and toss to coat apples.
  4. Transfer apples to a slow cooker. Turn to high heat.
  5. Pour melted butter, vanilla extract and lemon juice over apples. Stir to combine.
  6. Place lid on slow cooker and cook for 2-3 hours. Apples should be very tender when ready.
