Serves 4 |
Delicious, easy, and on the table in 35 minutes!
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon olive oil
14 oz smoked sausage, sliced
1 1/2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup long-grain white rice, rinsed
2 cups chicken broth
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons honey
Directions:
- Drizzle the olive oil into a large skillet. Bring to medium-high heat.
- Add the sausage to the skillet and sear until evenly browned.
- Stir in the Cajun seasoning and garlic. Cook and stir for 30 seconds. Then add the rice and stir to incorporate.
- Pour in the chicken broth. Bring to a low boil. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes, until the rice is tender and the broth is absorbed. Season with salt and pepper.
- Remove the skillet from the heat. Drizzle the honey over top and gently stir to combine.
