Texas-Style French Toast

This breakfast favorite just got even better.

Ingredients:

12 slices Texas toast
12 eggs, whisked
2 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Maple syrup, for topping, optional
Powdered sugar, for topping, optional

Directions:

  1. Place butter in a large skillet. Bring to medium heat to melt butter.
  2. Whisk together eggs, milk, cinnamon and vanilla extract in a mixing bowl.
  3. Place a slice of Texas toast in the egg mixture. Dunk and coat evenly. Repeat with remaining Texas toast slices.
  4. Place two slices of Texas toast in the skillet at a time. Cook until the bottoms are golden brown then flip.
  5. Transfer French toast to serving plates. Drizzle on maple syrup and top with powdered sugar.
