Turkey Meatball Sandwiches

Cheesy, full-flavored, and easy to make!

Ingredients:

1/2 tablespoon dried oregano
1 cup Mozzarella cheese, shredded
1/2 cup instant oats
Ground black pepper, to taste
1 egg
1/4 cup bread crumbs
2 hoagie rolls
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1 lb ground turkey
1/2 tablespoon dried basil
1 jar pasta sauce
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375° F.
  2. Combine oregano, instant oats, black pepper, egg, breadcrumbs, garlic salt, ground turkey, basil and Worcestershire sauce in a mixing bowl. Mix together very well.
  3. Scoop out a small amount and create meatballs. Enough for 24 meatballs.
  4. Grease a baking tray with cooking spray. Arrange meatballs on tray.
  5. Cook for 10-15 minutes.
  6. Pour pasta sauce in a saucepan, then add meatballs. Turn stovetop to medium heat and cook until sauce is warm.
  7. Turn broiler on in oven.
  8. Arrange hamburger buns on a baking sheet. Spoon three meatballs onto each bottom bun, drizzle sauce over top and sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over top.
  9. Place baking sheet in oven and cook until cheese has melted.
