Creamy Shells with Ground Beef





Serves 6 |
Delicious, easy and ready in no time.
Ingredients:
3 cups pasta shells, uncooked |
1 lb ground beef |
1/2 yellow onion, diced |
1 red bell pepper, diced |
1 teaspoon minced garlic |
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon black pepper |
3 tablespoons butter |
1/4 cup flour |
2 cups beef broth |
1/2 cup sour cream |
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese |
Directions:
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook pasta shells according to package directions. Drain water and set aside.
- Add the ground beef, yellow onion, and red bell pepper to a large pan. Bring to over medium heat. Cook and stir until the ground beef is fully browned. Pour into a colander to drain. Return to the pan. Place back on the stovetop with medium heat.
- Add the garlic, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper. Stir together well.
- Add the butter and stir until melted.
- Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Slowly stir in the beef broth. Stir in the sour cream and cheddar cheese until combined.
- Add the cooked pasta shells and stir until well coated.
- Spoon onto serving plates and enjoy!
