Gino Nomellini was born in a small town outside the beautiful city of Lucca, in the Tuscan region of Italy. He migrated to the United States in 1954 with his mother, Lina, father, Giovanni, and sister, Alma, where they settled in the North Beach area of San Francisco.
Gino worked with Galileo Sausage Company in San Francisco during the his first two years in the United States, where he learned the sausage trade. He then moved on to Gallo Sausage Company in 1956, where he worked for 36 years. Before retiring, Gino went to work for Swartz Sausage Company in San Francisco, where he remained for seven years.
In 1998, Gino began making sausage part-time for Piazza’s. He combines old world traditions, the highest quality ingredients and his skilled sausage-making knowledge, to make you the very best sausage in town!
